The Way of the Samurai
‘I only went out for a walk & finally concluded to stay out till sundown, for going out, I found, was really going in’.
(John Muir)
Could this be a definition of Scottish zen? It is stating something that we are all aware of, but we could not state it as succinctly as above.
There has been that Scottish – Japanese link in the arts & culture for a while. Even thinking back to those superb novels by Alan Spence & the current Pastels/Bill Wells/Tenniscoats/Mono/Domino relationships going on today, Glasgow has opened up to the Japanese collaborations.
I would hope that this is a 2 way process.
