The Glorious Gongs of Mount Meru
We had just passed the point of no return: 35 years wed & we asked our boys to get us tickets for Martin Carthy @ Fraser Centre, Milngavie.
As usual, it was a frozen, icy night & as Martin is now 70, you have to see him while you can.
It was a superb gig & he is the elder stateman of the 60s folk scene, one of the few English Folkies I would venture out to see (Kate Rusby being another).
